About The Founder
Dr. Toie Alston, a dedicated healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience as a pharmacist, is the visionary founder of Manage Your Rx. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree with honors from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
With 15 years in Managed Care, Dr. Alston has created many successful programs to help patients improve their health outcomes. She is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and holds a diabetes management certificate, showcasing her specialized expertise.
Dr. Alston is a dedicated member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and contributes to the TennCare Pharmacy Advisory Committee. With firsthand experience as a clinical pharmacist, she has seen the devastating effects of diabetes—chronic kidney disease, amputations, neuropathy, blindness, and heart disease. These complications are preventable, and Type 2 diabetes can often be put into remission with the right guidance. Motivated by her own mother’s journey to remission, Dr. Alston is passionate about helping others achieve similar success.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Alston enjoys spending quality time with her family and listening to music, which brings balance and joy to her life.
